CROSSFIT - MY OTHER PASSION

“Although CrossFit continues to stimulate me physically and frees up a great deal of my time, it’s the friendships I’ve cultivated that keep me coming back to it"!
Leslie Miletich

CrossFit and passion in the same sentence, I know – who would have thought! But this revolutionary fitness regime has taken the fitness community by storm in a very short period of time, myself included. It's enjoyed by everyone from professional athletes to individual fitness enthusiasts like me. So - what is this craze all about? Simply, CrossFit is a strength and conditioning program with the aim of improving, among other things, muscular strength, cardio-respiratory endurance, and flexibility in a short period of time.

I have been in love with this style of work out for over 5 years now. I eagerly wake up 5 days a week to attend a 6am class which has been affectionately coined "The Breakfast club" by about 20 regulars. For me – getting the best work out possible in under an hour was very interesting, as I used to spend a couple hours each day exercising. I was highly skeptical when I started and didn't believe spending less time in the gym would create better results. Real Estate and Crossfit, two very satisfying things I'm passionate about. Here are few CrossFit boxes that I recommend.

CrossFit 604 - Vancouver's only rockstar like Gym!

CrossFit 604 is currently located at154 West Hastings Street, in Vancouver. This is my gym of choice. This gym could not be anything if it wasn't for the owners Riley Karroll and Jason Darr. Not only is it run like a business it's really the service they provide that keep us there. When they opened a couple short years ago, they hired great CrossFit coaches including Morgan Carlson, Jen Dober, Pete Kendrick, Tim Marshall, David Sims and Tom Highmore. Riley and Jason coach as well and are equally as knowledgeable. I have been to a couple CrossFit gyms before and Crossfit 604 continues to exceed my expectations.

CrossFit North Vancouver - A little box that could!

Another option worth considering if you live on the North Shore would be Crossfit North Vancouver. Dave Kitchen and wife Christina Kitchen have also created an incredible 2nd home for many. Located in the Dollarton area in North Vancouver you can't go wrong here either.

Crossfit Pacific Central by Raincity Athethics - New but fierce!

Last but definitely not least, Crossfit Pacific Central opened its door just under a year ago, and it’s no coincidence it's flourished like a wild fire. Simon Damborg and partner James Whyte have created a boutique style CrossFit experience that will appeal to all. Simon was one of the first CrossFit coaches in Vancouver and can't say enough good things about him. If this is your gym of choice, be sure to ask Simon to take you running. However make sure he doesn't have a sore back. Good job fellas!
